About Us Thank you for your interest in OBridal! Where did we come from? It goes back a few years. . My mother taught me how to sew at a young age - before I was 8 years old! During my high school years I began recreating/designing dresses for myself because I didn’t want to wear pieces “off the rack”. Naturally, headed in to college, I studied clothing design and majored in Textile and Apparel Design at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. During college, in 1999, I met the man I would spend the rest of my life with. This changed my path dramatically. As we prepared for our wedding in 2002, I found out how much I loved wedding attire! I handmade my gown, my veil, and all of my bridesmaid dresses. And so, Occansey Designs was born. Occansey Designs began by hand sewing custom made wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses. However, this was fairly limited to only our local market. Each gown took many consultations and fittings. Looking to expand, I began creating bridal veils and selling them online. The response was incredible! So many brides were looking for very specific details and attributes in their veil that they could not find at a bridal shop. So I stopped making wedding gowns and began only creating custom wedding veils - selling them to brides all over the world! Overtime, we slowly changed our name into OBridal.com. It’s a little easier to say, and remember than Occansey Designs. But if you google reviews of Occansey Designs - we are the same company! I absolutely LOVE providing brides with hand made, custom bridal veils. Each and every veil we make is hand-cut, hand-sewn, with love! It is an honor to be a part of such a special day in one’s life.
